'Ad Hoc' Fosters Community and Cooperation in Boston Co-Working Space


n Boston, Jamaica Plain has been seeing a renaissance of sorts of the past few years.  It has become a destination for many of the city's young professionals and hipsters, embracing a more progressive culture along the way.  Located on Meehan St in what used to be a horse stable, 'Ad Hoc' is located on the first floor of the the three-story multi-use building, sharing space with a yoga studio and residences on the top floor.  Ad Hoc is a co-working space committed to "creating a coworking studio for creatives and entrepreneurs."

Currently, Ad Hoc has four full-time tenants and offers part-time and full-time memberships, that vary in access to the facility during off-hours and the full amenities of the space.  The office space is open, anchored by natural light and exposed brick, featuring a kitchenette and conference room.  The full-time "hockers", as they call themselves, represent a variety of businesses, including: Ars Magna Photography, Quilted, Rough Mountain, and Thinkside.
